  • In 1972, Jobs dropped out of Reed College in Portland after only 1 semester.

  • He worked for Atari with Steve Wozniak, who later co-founded Apple with Steve Jobs in the future, also worked at Atari.

  • Apple had a third co-founder, Ron Wayne, who left the company after less than 2 weeks.

  • The Apple Computer is created on April Fool’s Day in 1976.

  • In 1977, Apple revealed the Apple II, the first personal computer with color graphics.

  • Apple went public in 1980.

  • John Sculley, Pepsico’s president at the time, left his position at Pepsico to become the CEO of Apple in 1983.

  • Jobs later fought with Sculley, which led to Jobs’ resignation.

  • In 1986, Jobs created Next Inc., a company that makes high-end machines for universities. He also bought Pixar from Star Wars creator George Lucas for $10 million.

  • When Pixar merged with Disney in 2006, Jobs became Disney’s largest shareholder.

  • Apple eventually bought Next Inc., and Steve Jobs returned as CEO.

  • When he became ill, Tim Cook, took the role CEO, and Jobs is named chairman.

  • Jobs died at 56 on Oct. 5, 2011.

 

         The world's everyday life would be very different if Steve Jobs and the company's other two co-founders hadn't founded Apple. We wouldn't have iPhones, iPads, iPods, Macs, or any of the other Apple products we use evry single day. Life would be way harder if it wasn't for Steve Jobs.
