Changing the World

One Person at a Time

Someone once asked me and a few of my friends: If life had a scale, what would it be measured by? Some argued money, and others days or years. But then someone said: Actions. This got me thinking. When someone passes away, do we remember how many days s/he lived, or in what particular year s/he did something, or maybe how much money s/he had. No. We remember the person's actions, and what s/he did to changed the world. Steve Jobs once said: “We’re here to put a dent in the universe. Otherwise why else even be here?”

These four people are some of the best examples of people that changed the world. Walt Disney changed the world with the Walt Disney Company, which now has multiple TV channels, makes many movie every year, and has a number of resorts worldwide.

Steve Jobs and Bill Gates changed the world with their technology. Steve Jobs had the iPhone, iPads, iPods, and Macs, while Bill Gates had the world's most popular PC operating system, Microsoft Windows. We use all of these in our daily lives, and life would be a lot harder without them.

Muhammad Ali changed the world in his own special way. He didn't make anything that we use everyday, but the way he approached life was an inspiration to many people. He stood by his beliefs, had the courage to speak his mind, faced the consequences, and never regretted it. Along with Bill Gates, Ali now devotes his time to philanthropy, and is changing the lives of many people across the world.
